The THEC Student Information System (SIS) links data across many levels and sectors of education. Data provider relationships have grown continually since the inception of the SIS in 1994. These linkages enable researchers and policy makers to view students across delivery systems and over time. To accomplish this, THEC relies on the contribution of data from several source systems, including the Tennessee Board of Regents, University of Tennessee, Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association, and the Tennessee Department of Education.
The File Checklist provides a timetable for the submission of the various file types for the current reporting year. The Checklist assigns responsibility for each file type to the appropriate source system and enables the user to determine visitors to this website to determine whether files of a certain type have been received by the submission deadline.
Data Requests. Requests for student level data will be considered on a case by case basis. If approved, all data are masked, or anonymized, by substituting a random THEC I.D. number for the student social security number.
